Here is part 2 of 2.

Using the masking tape method on larger Perler art.
Here’s part 1 of 2 of my latest YouTube instructional video. This video covers the latest version of the masking tape method I have been using to make the bigger Perler creations.
This is the making of the Overwatch Bastion Perler from the last post.
I’m really happy how good the video turned out, and I did a little different format with slides in the videos. Check it out, I narrate the process and make stupid jokes and stuff! =)
Hang-On, Final Fantasy 2, and Super Mario Maker sprites.
Here’s some of the random sprites I’ve made over the last few months. After my big Space Invaders piece, I took a little bit of a break. I’m about to wrap up the Super Mario Maker project, and am considering moving into Final Fantasy 2 for my next big project.
I’ll be pinning the Super Mario Maker sprites to the wall soon, and will post update pics. =)
INSERT.COIN(S)
This is the second in the series of the single the single bucket challenge. I have a long term goal of creating ten of these over the next few years. My first piece like this was a simple pattern, and I was thinking the whole time that the houndstooth pattern looked an awful lot like the ships from Space Invaders, and was inspired.
I worked out most of the design from a screenshot found online of the ships in formation, added the Mystery Ship looming large in the background, plotted out the curve of the “Earth” and continents (not to scale). The big challenge here was to use all the colors while creating a design spontaneously.
It took about 25 hours to sort the beads, 30 to lay out the design, and 3 to tape and iron.
Gotta poke those holes to help the ironing process (important for bigger pieces like this)
Two sheets of Reynolds Parchment paper covered it nicely. Getting read for a long ironing session. It’s stressful as all getout, and I have to switch up arms. Big stack of books on the ready. Yes I have a functional candy machine in my house.
I buy these books half off at Goodwill. No I didn’t read the Sarah Palin and Rush Limbaugh books. =)
Closeup of the finished surface. I only iron the one side, and I display the bead side.
New Space Invaders single bucket Perler project.
New big project in the works. Gotta finish this up in the next 3 days. I separated an entire bucket again and the plan is to make one single piece with it. (Like I did with this)
I’ve laid out the Invaders, shields and laser cannon from the 1978 game Space Invaders, and was planning on what I would do to fill things in, and haven’t made a final decision, but I am going to get back to work on it now.
I will post the finished project or some more updates soon.

More Super Mario Maker Perlers than you can shake a joystick at!
(click to make picture bigger)
Here’s the next batch of 40 or so of the Super Mario Maker Perlers. I’m two thirds done now. I’ll update with more pics once I get them on the wall with the others. I ironed all of these in one marathon session. I should’ve taken pictures or video. I will next time. with the final batch.
Can you name them all, or at least what other games they are from?
Merry Christmas!
Progress on the Super Mario Maker WiiU Perler Wall
I should have been posting these weekly, or at least not have waited so long to post anything on the page, but better late than never.
Here’s what I’ve been up to the last few weeks.
Here we have the Amiibo costumes of the crew and ship from StarFox.
A few of the Animal Crossing costumes. (I wonder what angry song K.K. slider is singing).
Dr. Mario, Kart Mario, and some Yarn Yoshis.
Bowser Jr, Waluigi, Pit, Princess, Bowser, and Zero Suit Samus.
Diddy and Donkey Kong, Little Mac, Shellcreeper, Sidestepper , and a Shyguy.
Question mark block, Toad, Dr. Lobe, Fit Trainer, Chibi Robo, and a Squid from Splatoon.
Majohng tile, King Dedede, Foreman Spike, Pikmen, Toon Link, and Mr Game and Watch.
And finally some various enemies.
I project I am about half done with the project, and started putting them up on the wall. =)
Super Mario Maker Bullet Bill, Hammer Bros, and Piranha Plants.
More Super Mario Maker Amiibo Costume Perlers.
Here’s the latest batch of Super Mario Maker pieces for the big project: Mario from the original Mario Bros, Mega Man, and Maker Mario Amiibo costumes, and a Thwomp. The next set of these will be mostly set pieces and enemies. I’m glad that I found another game with this many sprites that I want to make. The plan is still to get the total count to around 150-200ish so I can cover most of an entire wall in my kids room; my 9 year old son really loves this game. =)
