Excitebike Perler fridge magnet set.

20150326_181904It’s not often that you see the background objects of videogames featured in art projects. I liked that the game Excitebike included things like cameramen and pit-crews in along the track. I really like the hard green borders they have, too.

I’ve been working on a ton of fridge-magnets for the reddit gift exchange, and for another project to finally sell some of my art for the people who keep on asking. =) I’ll be updating the page soon with a whole series on magnet stuff soon.

The Final Fantasy misfits.

20150314_230715You know by now how many Final Fantasy Perlers I have made already. Apparently¬†I can’t stop making them.¬†=)

Right to left is a cross dressing Black Mage (assuming the White Mage is female), A Fighter with Cloud Strife’s uniform and hair, and Orko from Masters of the Universe.

I made these, and more for a new Perler refrigerator magnet series that I will give more info on next post. I’m working on some more tutorials, too that should be complete by the end of March.

Burgertime refrigerator magnet set.

burgertime-magnetsThe first time I played Burgertime was at Magic Mountain in California around 1984. Your character “Peter Pepper” would walk on top of giant food, and mash it down to the lower level of the maze structure until you built a complete hamburger, and the hot-dog, fried egg, and pickle-chip would try to knock you out.

It had the trope of ladders and beams just like Donkey Kong, but instead of jumping, you would throw pepper in the enemies face to stun them, and if you could time it right, you could also make them “ride” the hamburger ingredients, or squash them; fun stuff.

It was such a weird concept for a videogame, but I was enamored. I get the song from the game stuck in my head all the time. Every section of the hamburger is independent, as to be rearrange-able. I really like the way this turned out, and it looks awesome on the fridge.
